Laura’s Bio
Laura is a recognized expert in authentic learning and a 21st Century Learning Specialist with the Iowa Area Education Agencies (AEA). In her role, she coordinates a statewide opportunity board for PK-12 students across Iowa, while also dedicating much of her time to facilitating high-quality professional learning experiences. Her focus is on helping educators create authentic projects and build strong student and school teams. As a certified Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Agile Classroom Teacher Trainer, Laura brings a passion for project management to the field of education. Over the past decade, she has been committed to transforming education by integrating authentic learning experiences and building partnerships between schools and local organizations. Through her work as an educator, consultant, and 21st Century Learning Specialist, she has helped bring real-world relevance to classrooms. Laura is also the author of The Improvement Game: Exploring Education Through Passion, Agility, and Authentic Learning Experiences, where she emphasizes the power of leveraging students' interests and passions to drive meaningful learning. Laura holds a K12 Principal and Special Education Supervisor license and Master in Arts of Teaching and Learning and a Masters in Educational Policy and Leadership. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education.
